Power Flickered...Now no monitor signal

My one buddy had his computer running (No Surge Protector, dumb, i kn0w)...And the power flickered on a off right after each other 4 times...Now when you boot up the computer it doesn't send signal to the monitor nor does the monitor turn on AT ALL!. So i tok my monitor over and tried it and it sed no signal input, so i KNOW that the monitor burned or something and that needs replaced...But what do you think happened to the computer?...It is a HP 2.0ghz celeron, with integrated video...Any ideas?

Try opening the computer up and unplug the power cable going to the motherboard. Hit the power switch. Plug it back in and try booting. This should discharge all the power, making for a clean boot.
