I need to flash my bios, but dont exactly know which im supposed to download and flash.
I have an ABIT BH6 The sticker on the ISA slot says "Abit BH6 ok v1.02" The bios Id number is "KG" from the boot screen. Am i supposed to download the bios update with the newest date( my current bios date is : 03/11/1999 ), or am i supposed to select the one that says 'KG' (I want to buy a new celeron 633) Im at a complete loss, so any help i would be real geatfull thanks........ |

Hello,
The KG is your actual BIOS, so flashing the KG with KG would do nothing. There are 5 newer BIOS available, and I'd take the newst one, called QN. Every newer BIOS version includes the older one. I had the Abit BH-6 V1.02, too, and had the QN running without problems. Also download the newest bios flash, but abit site usually pops up a window where you can download that. Run the exe file to extract the bin file. Also the bios-flash procedure: Start your PC in pure dos with no drivers loaded (hit F8 during bootup, select Safe Mode for Command Prompt Only). Then run the bios flash and flash it with the bin file you extracted from the exe you downloaded. One reboot, and that's it. Hope this helps, RJ
