bad feedback from onboard audio

I am getting some pretty bad feedback from the onboard audio, and I have tried just about everything, do you think that I could have just gotten a faulty board??? and should I RMA it?

Feeback as in feedback like you would hear at a concert? I have never heard of that with a computer unless a microphone is hooked up, turned on, and too close to the speakers. Do you have a microphone connected? What kind of board is it?

sorry, i guess it isn't really feedback...just a really annoying noise, sometimes i can hear the mouse move, other times i can hear programs loading, almost like i can always hear the system processes.

Abit IC7, no mic, and yes, using headphones.

It could just be the sound is faulty but if that is your only problem then the rest of the mobo is probably fine. I dont think theres any way to replace the onboard audio by itsself though, you might just have to get a sound card. If you get a fairly inexpensive one its at least cheaper than a new mobo.
Dont buy a sound card though until you hear the opinion of some of the more experienced members because I'm not 100% sure.

Well, the mobo isn't more then a week old, so it is still covered by warranty...that is the only reason that I ask. Granted, cheap sound cards are only $30 bux...

Mine does the exact same thing, when there is silence and there is CPU activity, I get annoying noises. I think it happens with lower quality onboard sound, you should try a sound card. It would be better quality anyway.
