prints a page from another file over the page I want to print

My computer is a Compaq 350, 64 RAM. Windows 98 SE. My problem is my HP Deskjet 842C using the USB port prints a page from another file over the page I want to print. I have reinstalled the HP software according to their instructions. It was working on my old Hard drive.

Are you saying that if you turn on your pc, type a letter in word and print it->the printed page will be info from another file?

Is it always the same file that it pulls from?
Does it happen in all applications?
