Is this a normal price for a Plextor

i found a Plextor 12X DVD+RW/-RW Drive, PX-712A, Retail at newegg.com for $147. Is this an average price for a good Plextor because for some reason i thought they were more expensive than that,

That's a normal price for a Plextor.
Considering that the 712A / SA is not capable of burning a dual layer DVD, it is very expensive.

Dual Layer? ...I just asked a very stupid question didn't I? It doesn't have anything to do with Dual Drive does it? because I know what that is.

Dual layer DVDs have two recording layers which doubles the amout of recording space. The burner refocuses the laser to each layer so as to not affect the other layer.
