Differences between a pcl5c to a pcl6 print driver

When dealing with HP printers most of the time (if not all) you are given a choice of pcl5c or pcl6 driver. Most of the time out of habit I choose pcl6 and so far everything has been good. But what is the difference between the two?

6 is probably just a newer/more options?

Printer Control Language

n. A printer control language from Hewlett-Packard, used in its LaserJet, DeskJet, and RuggedWriter printer lines. Because of the LaserJet's dominance in the laser printer market, Printer Control Language has become a de facto standard. Also called Hewlett-Packard Printer Control Language, PCL. Acronym: PCL.

PCL5C is the latest color PCL, PCL6 is the latest monochrome PCL. If you are asking the difference between PCL5 and PCL6 monochrome, 6 is better as long as all your applications get along with it - some older Windows apps will work with 5 but not 6. I usually install both and make the 6 the default. For example, I believe one of the apps that doesn't like 6 is WordPerfect 7.
