Till few months back i had two drives configured very well on my PIII PC as Primary master & primary slave hard disks. but now when iam trying to configure both the hdd's together my system hangs up at startup & shows no disk. & if by chance sometimes it detects both hard disk, then Slave HDD doesn't works & in system properties i get yellow exclamation mark at Primary IDE Controller (Dual Fifo) with Some Code 10.
Can anyone please help me. Thanks Last edited by sandeep77; 07-25-2004 at 09:15 AM. |

What do you mean: "but now when iam trying to configure both the hdd's together"
Are they still ,master and slave? What changes did you make? |

Is it an 80 wire or 40 wire cable? If it is 80 wire you want them on Cable Select. Are the drives being detected propely in the BIOS?

Are you using a 40 wire or 80 wire cable? If you are using 80 wire, are you sure you have the correct ends plugged in the correct places? This is a Cable Select type cable and you must have the correct end in the controller, the other end in the master, and the middle connector in the slave, you canot override this protocol with jumpers. Try a new or different cable anyway.
