Printer Not Communicating With PC
HI
I recently reformatted my friends pc because it was running really slow. I reinstalled everything and it turns out he lost the cd for the printer. The printer model is Lexmark X75. So I downloaded the driver from the lexmark site. I tried to use the add hardware wizard but it would not detect the printer and said that it wasn't pnp. I reinstalled the usb ports with the dell cd and still nothing. The Usb & gamepad work fine but when i plug in the printer i get the usb device in malfunctioning. There is a thing in the usb root directory in devices that is unknown. I tried installing the driver for it that came with dell but it failed. I really need help on this one. Thanks in advance. |

Did you try installing the printer drivers before plugging it into the USB port? That's what I had to do with my Canon printer.

That didn't work. In the printer properties there is no option to select usb for a printing port only lpt1-lpt4 and com.
