My thermaltake Tsunami quick review

This isn't meant to be a full review just my personal opinion.

Well I just did my first FULL build and with it I have a A64 3000+, with 2x512mb pc3200 ram, 400w thermaltake psu, radeon 9800 pro, 200gb hdd, and xp pro and office xp pro

The case came in a nice big retail box and looks amazing. The mirror coating black paint looks like it belongs on a car. The side window is nice and big in a curvy X shape. The side locking panel is perfect. It has sliding 5.25" drive bays for no-tool installation. Also it came with a lot of thumb screws. There are plenty of places to hide wires too. And for PCI slots it has retractable ports(no screws) it has a nice bright blue 120mm fan in the back and another 120mm in the front. The third fan is a 92mm on the side. For the heatsink I got the arctic cooling silencer and its not meant to be an amazingly powerful heatsink but since the case is sooooo good after leaving the comp on and gaming and such its temp is at 14C. So overall its an amazingly nice looking case with the features to back it up.

CPU temp: 14C
MOBO: 40C

BTW since the CPU is only at 14C should I OC so I can get better performance out of far cry and soon-to-be halflife2 and doom3? (haha i changed the subject on my own thread)

no way your cpu is at 14 on air. you have mixed your umbers up i think. Don't know what you did but i don't see how that is possible unless your case is inside a fridge or something.

I just don't see how that is possible, unless the ambient temperature is very low

it isn't possible with air cooling. even if the ambient temperature was low, then the motherboard would be at a lower temperature. software temperature reading isn't very good, i'd expect the bios values to me more reliable.

punked out comp,
the silver case with the window in silver is $135 all together (with shipping andhandling). But in black its 140 all together....

Its expensive... but i think its gonna be worthit and im planning on getting it with my new system

Also, Mikegrif, what would you give it as a rating? from 1-10?
Is all the installation easy? because thats what i need, im new
lol

thanks

Jason

There is no way your CPU is cooler than the motherboard. 14C is only 57 F. 40C if 104F. How can the CPU be half the temp of the motherboard?

Check the temps in BIOS. Most Windows based utilities aren't very accurate. I've never heard of FreshDiagnose.

Ya the temp of the cpu after a lot of intensive stuff was about 55. And I payed about $200 after for mine but I got the 400w psu, dual ccfls and the black with side window. I thought installation was really simple. The only con is the non-removeable mobo tray. So with that I give it a 9.5 on design and a 10 on looks
