Fan speeds

Is there a progam that will let me choose my fan speeds without a fan speed controller? Also, how can I see my fan speeds? have 2 3 pin slots on my mobo for fans, and I have one used up. Will this mean I can only see the RPMs of 2 of my fans? Also, I would like my fans to run in silent mode, how can I do that without a fan speed controller? (btw, i will be orderin my fans today, check sig)

I've never heard of any.

You can see them in the BIOS. If you want to monitor them from Windows your motherboard may have come with a utility on the motherboard CD. Or there may be third party utilities out there, but I don't know of any.

Basically, yes.

Get low speed fans like the Panaflo L1A, Vantec Stealths or the Zalman ZM-F1.

Stealth are quiet running fans because of the low RPM the fan blades spin at...that's the only speed they spin at and that is the only "mode" these fans will operate at.

I've used Stealths in the past and find them to be very high quality units that are very quiet.

That is not my intention. We are here to help people with their computer problems (at least that's why I come here) and if providing a link will help the original poster with a problem, I'm more than happy to do it. Of course, it would be nice if people would learn how to do net searches on their own.
