I'm doing something wrong.

I have an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe, and when I run the prog it came with it tells me that my fans aren't running, I can see that my cpu fan, power suppy fan, the two fans in the back, and the one in the door are all running. Now I cpu fan is plugged into the motherboard, the powersuply is plugged in at the 20pin and the 4pin connecter, but the other 3 fans only have power plugs, is there someway to connect these to my mobo? From what I understand my tempurature is fine around 32c at Idle (P4 2.8c Northwood).

If all your fans are running like they should, just ignore the message from the ASUS Probe.

You don't want to connect too many fans to the motherboard because if they draw too much juice you can end up with power related problems (like system instability). Just leave them the way they are and stop obsessing about the temperatures.

Thanks. One more thing, I have 2 rear mounted fans, maybe I should move one to the front for better air flow?

You can move one fan to the front if you want to. But I'm a believer that it's better to have more exhaust than intake for case cooling. With the exhaust fan on the back of the case removing heat from the case a vacuum is created within the case. This will naturally draw cool air into the case through the openings in the front.

And with the fans on the back of the case, the computer seems to run a little more quietly since the fans are farther away from you.

Sorry but I have another question, all three of my case fans have 4pin femal and male plugs can I plug all three into each other so that I'd only need to have one wire from the psu floating around in my case?

Yes, you can daisy chain your fans together.

just turn off the monitoring for those fans as cricket said. My Asus probe complained that some fans were spinning to slowly when I had by p4p800, your problem lies in the fact that your case fans don't have the yellow wire (3pin connector) which just sends an electrical signal to the mobo, telling it they're spinning. If your fans have the 3pin connector, you can cut off the red wire to the connector, plug it into the mobo, and still use the 4pin molex connector to power the fan. That way you avoid overloading the mobo and can still monitor fan RPM, if you so desire.
