Not feeding paper?
Hello everyone!
I own a Canon BJC-6000 which has been treating me very well...until now. For some reason, I can't get it to load paper. The documentation only points to the obvious stuff, which I've done: I use the right kind of paper, I've checked for jams, I've tried different ways to get the paper to settle in the tray, I've updated drivers, and so on. The "autofeed" is also turned on under the Properties tab. I'm thinking this may be a physical problem. Is it a very common one, one that's easy to fix? Or should I just buy a new printer, since they're pretty cheap these days anyway? I realize this all may be vague but I just don't know where to go next. What else should I be checking? Check to see if the paper feed rollers are actually turning when it's trying to pickup paper. If they are, try cleaning the rollers with rubbing alcohol.

On many printers they use a frail plastic clip for the Pick Up. These can often be replaced with a kit from the vendor. Some actually offer these kits for free.

Interesting
I believe that they are rolling, yes, and I'll try the rubbing alcohol idea.
The frail clip this is also interesting. I didn't know about that. Where would I look? How do I know if it's broken? I don't think this was in the manual. All the best, Phil |

The clip is used to seperate the paper as the rollers pick it up insureing only 1 page at a time is feed. It is normally at the end of the paper stack. I did not see this in the manual either along with many other things.
I do not know if this printer has one. |

Again, thank you!
I've been looking at the printer to see if I can see a broken clip, or where a clip should be, and I don't see anything. But maybe I'm still confused about what to look for.
I'll try the rubbing alcohol idea, too. Phil |

Alcohol will clean the rubber rollers but will also harden the them. good ole H2O will do the job and use a rag that wont tear up when rubbing.
