how do you remove a dry face plate??
The title is the question This must be a stupid question but I really don't know a little help plz?

If I am hearing this right you have a plastic face plate that has stiffened up over time and you need to remove it to add a drive.....the solution is heat - try a hair dryer on high on the tabs holding it in place. The heat will soften the plastic a little and make it less brittle/rigid. Still- be careful on the removal assuming that you want to save the plate for possible future use, plastic gets brittle over time especially in the presence of heat that cooks out the chemicals that give it flexibilty..

Which case are you using?
On most current cases, the front panel is just held on with lock tabs that slip into slots in the metal chassis. To remove the front panel, you have to "unlock" or lift these lock tabs so that they can be pulled free from the chassis. On older cases, the front panel was often held on with screws. Cricket
