Audigy Live and Abit NF7-S
I just got a new motherboard, the NF7-S from Abit. I have it installed and everything works ok, cept for my soundcard. I install the drivers for my Audigy Live, restart the pc and then it gets to the desktop and says "finishing installing the soundcard", then reboots. It continues doing this. Does this mean I need to get a new soundcard too?

Uninstall the sound card drivers, reinstall them. Another solution is to use integrated sound. Sorry to have to say this but your integrated sound is an nVidia Soundstorm - high quality stuff.
Hope that helps, kram

Well once I've installed them I can't uninstall them as I cant get back into windows. I have tried the onboard sound and it'll do me for now, seems pretty decent. But if I were to get a new soundcard later on, would the same situation likely happen again?

Likely not - I installed the Creative SB Audigy LS fine - installed the drivers first, then inserted the card.
Hope that helps, kram |
