What is normal cpu temp range for amd 2700+
After the computer's been on about half hour, the Asus Probe says the CPU temp is 48C. However, when I checked in the bios setting it says it's 79C. I'm not sure which is correct. I have two fans on the back my computer below the power supply and they seem to be working. It strikes me that 79C is kind of high if it's correct.
I have the Asus a7nx8 motherboard. Also, in the BIOS it lists only one fan(CPU) as being activated. There's a listing for chassis fan but it has no data listed next to it in the BIOS. The manual also just lists the CPU fan. Are these other fans listed in BIOS necessary? |

Umm id have to say that 79 is off, 48 sounds more accurate, maybe if you upgrade BIOS, it might show right there. But I seriously doubt its 79, (Unless you dont have a cpu fan), cause it should kill itself at that temp.

Althought the CPU would probably just survive at that temperature..it is unlickely running at it. as comp615 said 48 does sound more accurate. What Heatsink/fan do you have anyhow?

Thanks for the follow ups guys.
I think I'm going to update the BIOS just as a practical matter. |
