Modifying the fireball on a Tt Lanfire Case.
I have a thermaltake Lanfire Case and I really like how the fireball lights up in the front but I really dont like the noise the inverter box makes and how the switch was inside. So I tried just connecting it to the inverter box that my cold cathode is connected to and of coarse it doesnt light up. I tried applying voltage to the different wires and what not to the fireball strip but it wont light up no matter what or how much voltage I apply to it. So I tried soldering it back to the inverter box to make sure I didnt destroy it and it works fine. But when I try to make it light up "manually" it does nothing. I have tried different kinds of voltage from 5-14v so I know thats not it. Is there some special way that LED lights need power in order to work? I know this is a fairly popular case anyone tried modding the fireball before?

LED's will only light up when the voltage flows through them one way, have you tried switching the polarity of the wires? You probably tried this though.
