usb on win2kpro

I've recently added a usb kvm switch. The keyboard and mouse are not recognised on my one win2k pro machine. Logitech says usb mice and keyboards are not supported by win2k....is there a way to work around this? (usb support is enabled in bios). Right now I'm just using a separate ps2 keyboard and mouse for the win2k machine only. the other 3 machines on the usb kvm are win98se and "see" the mouse and keyboard fine.

Win2k supports USB a lot better than Win98SE. Is *legacy* USB support enabled in bios?

I've got a whole site running Logitech USB keyboards and mice on Win2k just fine.

thanks glc, I'll have to check and get back to you. But I thought I had checked every usb option in the bios...I'll be right back.

glc-
there is no "legacy usb" setting in my bios. is this why I am having a problem? or is there a different setting that may be used here?

Send a message via ICQ to RJ
Sometimes it's also called "USB Keyboard support" or "USB keyboard and mouse" or something like that.

What is your motherboard model ?

RJ-
thanks for the reply....I have usb keyboard and mouse enabled, the win2kpro box still won't recognise the usb input from my kvm. I have a Tyan S2095A. I wish there were some way out of this, having to use two mice and keyboards really defeats the whole idea of using a KVM.

update:
by following the kvm manufacturers advice, I installed the usb mouse and keyboard without the kvm. Then when I hooked the kvm up, all was recognised.
NOW I am having problems with my wn98 boxes (the other 3). When installed without the kvm, they recognise my Logitech marble mouse. However, unlike the win2kpro box, they see the mouse as a scroll wheel mouse when run through the kvm switch. The logitech software has no "acceleration" properties for the scroll mouse.
Now, I'm not attached to having the right mouse installed, but really miss the acceleration (I use Autocad and Illustrator a lot). Is there a separate program that I can install that will give this feature back?
