Xtasy 9600xt 128mb problem Plz help
I just built a new computer and for some reason it won't recognize my xtasy 9600xt 128mb Agp video card. I have tried other agp video cards and they all work fine, and i checked this video card in another computer and the video card works. But they won't run together.
I have been trying to fix what the problem is for the last couple days and I am not getting anywhere. The motherboard is a ECS 915p-a and it has a agp express slot. Any help is greatly appreciated |

Do specs for both the motherboard AND the video card show a common AGP compatability (2x, 4x, 8x)?

MotherBoard
Video card They should be compatible. The video card is a 8x/4x agp and the motherboard is agp express. The motherboard has already ran other 4x agp video cards before too. It's driving me crazy. |

When you say it doesn't recognize the card, do you mean in Windows? or are you still trying to get the computer to post? Can you describe what happens when you turn the thing on? What happens, beeps, etc...?

I turns on normally except the monitor recieves absolutely no information.
But it's getting power because the fan runs. I tried running my friends pci board along with the agp and when i did, the pci board worked and windows wasn't even recognizing an agp slot or that there is anything in it. |

Try running the card in another computer if you can. It may be that the card is busted.
You said the monitor receives absolutely no information... there's actually two versions of this. Power on your monitor and then power on the comp. Does the monitor do anything at all? (Click like a resolution change, light blink, etc.) If it does not, and yet the fan is spinning on the card, the card is most likely busted because absolutely nothing is being output from the card. However, if the monitor does do something, it's possible that it's some other issue. |

Have you tried resetting the cmos battery to get rid of hardware settings? Is there a separate power plug from the PSU that you are forgetting to plug in? |
