Hi Gang
Is it possible to hook up 3 drives, like a CD burner/player, DVD player, DVD burner? Do they make such a cable, both for the power and the info? There is just a single connection on the MB for your drives, so do they make a cable that would have three connections, instead of just the two? Don't ask why I want to know this. Lets just say, what we wont do or ask for our other half. ha Thanks and take care..........Gunny

No. Parallel ATA supports 2 devices per channel, not more.
But since a DVD burner can also burn CDs there is no need for an extra CD burner unless you need to burn 2 CDs at the same time. Or you get a IDE controller card, which has IDE ports on it. They cost about $30, though, so the best for you is to take out the CD-RW. RJ

HI RJ
Thanks for the fast answer. I was sort of thinking this other wise they would make accommodations for this. I had never seen one, so I thought I would just ask. That is what is so great about this forum, ask and you shall receive, and fast too. Even the dumb questions get as much attention as the smarter ones. Thanks and take care.........Gunny |
