cordless mx duo and firefox

i just bought a logitech cordless mx duo which i am very happy with. i went in to customize all my settings with the buttons, and anything i try to open dealing with the web won't open when i have firefox set as the default browser. however, when i change it back to IE, everything is alright again. anyone know of a fix to get the buttons to work with firefox? thanks
