buying maxtor harddisk
Hi, i wanna buy maxtor sata harddisk 120GB, 7200rpm
is this a good one? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...144-319&depa=1 (because there are some ultra or something different...) tnx |

Yes that is a very good hard drive.
By "ultra" I think you mean Ultra ATA, which was the predecessor of Serial ATA. That hard drive that you intend to get is Serial ATA, not parallel ATA (Ultra ATA belongs to parallel ATA), so be sure your mainbaord has SATA connections as well. RJ

I've bought over twenty maxtors thus far,spread over a year and a half. Five for myself and the rest for family/friends/customers. No failures yet, so it seems like a wise choice ATM.

I've had three IDE versions of that drive - One is holding up very nicely, one died, was RMA'd, and the drive they sent me was also working well untill I went and killed it...

The drives are exellent. It's a pitty though Maxtor gives only 1 year warranty on their new drives... Western Digital is on the same level of quality/price, but they give 3 years, so I would rather go for WD

ya, i like WD(western digital), after that Seagate, and then Maxtor.
it mainly depends on the price though :-P KoMoDo |
