Computer Sucks, Is It A Hard Drive or RAM Problem?
My computer is taking a really long time to start up and do anything. I originally thought was the hard drive because it was making noises. I just finish my new build and it makes noises, too. I am thinking that they aren't singals of damage.
When I was working with my new computer, ASUS told me to run some memory test. I tried it on my old computer and it shot up a bunch of random letters and number. I have no idea what they mean, but I believe they are errors. Would the RAM failing make more sense than the hard drive? Would a bad hard drive even slow down a computer? |

What are the noises you get?
faulty RAM can cause anything. Run the test again on the RAM and post back the error number. Unplug all case fans, unplug all optical dives, unplug all hard drives, and see if the noises still come in. |
