I was writing something, and suddenly the keyboard displayed the wrong letters.
For instance: I typed "asdf", and the display read " dcji". I then pushed every letter on the keyboard, and each letter was wrong, except the numbers. I thought it was a keyboard problem, changed keyboards, but it happened again. I ran Norton System, ad-aware, Pest Patrol. Nothing. Uninstalled, and re-installed the driver. Nothing. I can't download a differend one, since I can't type on my keyboard. I need BIG help. Has anyone ever had this kind of problem? Thanks, Kitty |

Welcome to PCMech, Kittykolina
![]() It may need a cleaning. Take a look here: http://www.pcmech.com/show/optimize/687/4/ Also, go into the Control Panel > Keboards > "Hardware" tab. What is listed? It should be a standard 101/102 keyboard.

I agree with the above. It *is* probably a prank, or a virus, or a problem with your hardware or driver configuration. However, I have noticed that when I (and others) play Runescape online that for some reason the input from the keyboard becomes all garbled when one tries to enter text into something other than the Runescape application itself. This might hint to a general problem with a certain class of applications. Make sure the problem doesn't arise only when you are running specific programs.

Open control panel, go to Keyboards, check the Input Locale tab. Someone may have set it to Dvorak or a non-English setup.
