I have a 14" Compaq monitor model 420 it only has controls for brilliance and contrast does anyone know where i can get drivers for this monitor? (so that i can increase the screen size to the full dimensions of the monitor)

This is as close as I could get. Maybe you can go from here.
Compaq downloads Did you check to see if Windows includes them? It has drivers for many models of monitors. |

I dont think that your monitor is able to give edge to edge display even at the lowest resulition. too old, and may be only a vga type monitor, I think you will need at least a supervga type and at least 17" to get what you want.

Thanks for the replies as you say it might be only a vga Monitor but i am not getting any way near a full screen maybe 8" and windows has no drivers for it i need to increase the screen size surly i should be able to get somewere near 14" (i have tried Compaq sight no luck yet)

Try a different *video* driver - I have seen this before with some older Diamond video cards and non-adjustable monitors. In this case, using the generic S3 chipset driver helped a lot, as did playing with resolution and refresh rate.
