Exclamation Inserting RAM help

Hi, I have a PC133 SdRam stick, just took it out of my comp to see exactly what kind it is so i could order another, and while i tried putting it in, the closest i got for my comp to work is a loud beeping sound and no output on the moniter. I've tried making the two slot things click but they just dont quite fit, am I doing something wrong or just not pushing hard enough? Quick response would be great.

Make sure the two notches in the contact edge of the ram stick are properly aligned with the two locators in the ram slot. Then apply steady pressure until the ram stick is fully seated. Pushing on the top of each end will allow the latches to pull in.

Thank you for the help, but thats still not quite it. You see, the ram stick seems to be fully into the slot, but the two notches still arent in line with the stick, even if i push really hard (which i did not do, in fear of breaking it) but ive tried turning it around, over, etc. but to no effect, it wont fit.

You have to apply a good deal of pressure to get the memory in--more than you think you would. At first it seems like you're going to break something, but you won't, it's just the way the memory sockets are.

Thank you, both of you, my problem is now fixed. It turns out exactly like juice said, i just pushed hard enough and it clicked . I think this was a good thing, it wasted 3 hours of my time so now i can go get more ram to play World of Warcraft (freakin' awesome game) Account name: teddehbehr
