I am confused about the sata name that is being used on new boards! I just got a DFI NFII ULTRA INFINITY with four sata ports and a western digital 80 gb sata hard drive i am trying to connect just the sata and boot up and NOT USE AN THE EIDE DRIVE . iN BIOS IT HAS S-ATA OR SCSI CARD i enabled s-ata then it asks boot 1-2-3 but there is no sata in the boot list among the usual it does have scsi as 1st 2nd 3rd but when i try just loading os my system after f6 it wont recognize the sata i have tried all different settings and nothing i enable cdrom as first and wont load windows cant find a hard drive! i also tried to use eide and the sata both and then loads to eide but that is not what i want no raid. it will then tell me ther is not enough resources to run ! thanks jm.

Is your SATA hard drive plugged in to the "1" SATA port on the motherboard?
