The size, quality of materials and construction, the extras(lights, fans, controller, etc) and to some extent the name. I have a Thermaltake case and the quality is there.

Alot of the Thermaltake cases are expensive because they have a unique look to them, there also very sturdy cases. The lights you see in the front do come with it

Theremaltake is some very good stuff! I highly feel that the 125 for that case is well worth it. They make some high quality goods I bought some RAM COOLERS from them.. you know heatsynks for your ram... anyway It works out really well. Thermaltake is name brand!!

You can get that same case with a 400w PSU for just a little more. It's right here.

I just want to comment that I really like how the case looks - I've been highly considering getting that as my next customer's build case. Notice first that the Thermaltake case is made of aluminum - strong and sturdy yet very light. Also, the PSU from Thermaltake is top quality - nothing to worry there.

The nice bonus about that case is that there is no shipping fee - it's straight out 125 USD. I'd highly recommend it.

Thermaltake is top quality. They use thick aluminum and throw in a lot of extras. I too really like that case. However, I also like most of the CoolerMaster cases. THIS one in particular.

Hehe - so similar. I'm starting to wonder whether Thermaltake Tsunami and that CM case you showed us are made by the same manufacturer . Looks great though - I do have to say black with the lights looks good on the Tsunami though.

That's hilarious! Those are the two cases that I have been having trouble choosing from for my next build! This week I think I'm leaning a little more towards the Thermaltake because of the power supply. Plus, the Cooler Master is a bit more expensive with no psu. Mmmmmmmm, new build.

holy crap u gotta be loaded :-P that much for just a case ?
its an awesome, popular case, if u want it, go ahead, i know some cool once for less than $50, but this is your choice :-P i say get a cheaper case and upgrade somethin else, like the gfx card/RAM/cpu, etc... :-P

actually, 125 is decent for an aluminum case of that quality. aluminum is always more expensive then steel. Having a good case ensures you have good cooling and don't get disgusted when you use ur comp

No - budget cases are what you seem to be pointing at. I would have gladly taken the Thermaltake Tsunami case over the Aspire X-Dreamer, should it have came into my case radar ealier. The Thermaltake cases are top quality with nice alumnimum material casing, as Yuanji mentioned. It's all worth it IMO.

o, i got this i got this :-P
this HP comp im using (rebuilt into a new case, that pretty much answers your question :-P) is having a uATX form factor mobo, A7N8X-LA specifically made for HP.
so ya, uATX will work, HP tech support told me that it only works for upto mid-tower cases, maybe it can go tower aswell, not sure, but for u itll be fine.
is the mobo u picked out uATX ? i thought thats only for proprietary mobos...

no the mobo i picked out isnt uatx. im thinking of doing this a diferent way. im perfectly fine with my memory, cd burner dvd burner, mobo, and cpu. if i just put all this stuff in a different case and i get a new hard drive, i would be pretty much happy plus then id have a lot of leftover money to do what i want with.

I did the same thing. I bought a new case and moved all my components for no other reason than to change the look. I didn't like the look of my old case and I don't mind spending a few bucks for a better quality one. Komodo, didn't you do the same thing with your PC?

haha :-P

i actually did,
but that was for a few reasons :-P
1. i had to move overseas, didnt wanna carry crappy psu, and crappy case.
2. case was too small, ugly, only 1 fan(knew i would need more for my 5900xt, ALTHOUGH THIS DAMN 5900XT ISNT WORKING!, and now im overseas! but sis is going back to the US sunday, so she'll take it with her and her husband will talk to XFX and tell em to give us a working one, or better yet, a 6800GT! (is it possible they'll do that ?) i was talkin to their tech support and they kept telling me things i already did, and then their last reply was: "Ok, the Graphics card is faulty, Contact your vendor" but my vendor is newegg and the warranty is prolly already out, plus i threw the box, driver CD, and all that junk, so i only have the gfx card, if we'll send it back to XFX they will just need the gfx card, nothing else, i really hope they'll give us a 6800GT, im through with this company, although this sort of thing happens with every company)
3. PSU was incredibly bad and case was too small to replace, plus as i said, i wouldnt take the stuff with me anyways.

so tahts basically it, i got a cheap, good looking case here in israel, and rebuilt the comp over here, it was so much cheaper than 125$(lol...) and i really like it, its not aluminum, its steel, but its real good, 3 case fans, and another 2 in the psu, EXTREMEL Y noisy, i can hear it working like 10 feet away, while in staircase... and i sleep 3 feet away from it while im leaving comp working overnight.

plz respond to my questions about XFX and your condolences regarding my pain guys :-P

well im gona kinda rebuild my computer in steps. my case is really small so i cant really do much with it. first im going to get a new case. then when i get some more cash im going to put in a new mobo and a new version of windows xp. then after that when i get lots more cash, im going to upgrade my cpu and my memory. then, if i feel the need for a gfx card, i will get one. and KoMoDo, IM NOT LOADED. my birthday is coming up and ive been saving money for a while. i wont be spending more than 800 bucks for this system. if you think that 800 bucks for a system is xpensive, then u really need to look into some of the top-of-the-line systems cause they would kick this builds ass any day

As far as the case goes, Thermaltake cases are of excellent quality. Can you get a case of comparable quality for less money? Probably.

But once you start spending over about $65 for case only, then you are beginning to pay for aesthetics. Limited production or sales can drive the cost up.

I saw that case as a demo unit on sale for $40 locally. But I didn't need a case.

I have a socket 478 Willamette 1.8GHz Celeron right now, but I ordered a socket 478 Northwood 2.8GHz Pentium 4 to replace it. I'll run some benchmarks comparing the two when I get it .
