Dell C600 hissing noise...
Hello Readers,
I've had this Dell C600 latitude laptop for about 2 years now. Whenever I'm around my friends' laptops, they seem so quiet. My laptop has this annoying hissing noise coming from the back left corner...the area where the battery/power cord plugs into. My friend suggested that the noise could be from a faulty power supply because it used to not be this loud. The noise is definitely not the fan, because the fan only turns on occassionally - and I can distinguish the noise. If I can get some confirmation as to if the power supply might be the culprit of the noise problem, then I think I will take it into the store to get it replaced. How much might that be; a ball park figure? Thanks in advance for your time, Steven |

You might even look for a used one on ebay and install it yourself. You might pay an arm and a leg for a shop to do that.
I am looking on Ebay for you, but I think the PS could be part of the entire mobo. I update you later. Edrod13
