System config crash after installing HD

Hi all,

Today I tried to install a Western Digital Caviar (120 GB) but for some reason it doesn't seem to get *completely* recognized. When I boot and the system configuration is shown I get the following:

Code:
Pri. Master Disk: LBA, More 4,
Here the bootup seems to crash.

Next to this, the floppy and CD-ROM drive both fail to boot after connecting the hard drive, making it rather difficult to flash the BIOS, which could help with recognizing the drive (the motherboard is quite old, an MSI BXMaster).

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it!

Are you installing the drive as secondary, or will it be your primary drive? What is the configuration of the IDE channels? How are all the drives jumpered?

It's supposed to be the primary drive.

As for the IDE channels, I have both the CD and the hard drive on one cable (in IDE1) on the motherboard. The jumpers of the HDD are set to master, on the CD they are put on slave. Is that what you mean?

Edit: I flashed my BIOS and now the bootup doesn't crash anymore. Up to the next challenge!

You are fortunate MSI had a bios update to recognize a drive that large!
