Seagate HD with an External Enclosure
I have had a Mirco Plus MP-320U2 USB 2.0 External HDD Enclosure for a while now with a Maxtor 120GB HD and it has worked fine, except it was causing slow boot times. I wanted to switch that hard drive with my Seagate Barracude 7200.7 Model: ST3160023A 160GB HD.
I have every driver I can find for both installed, but when I plug in the external drive, windows does not recognize it. It doesn't even detect a unknown USB device. I tried plugging it into a Linux machine and it detects it. Any ideas why it wont work on my machine? Last edited by aKobrakai; 09-23-2004 at 06:26 PM. |

Try different jumper settings on the drive. Set it to what ever the other drive was.

I have tried master (which is what the external enclosure says to use), slave and cable select.
