Seagate HD with an External Enclosure

I have had a Mirco Plus MP-320U2 USB 2.0 External HDD Enclosure for a while now with a Maxtor 120GB HD and it has worked fine, except it was causing slow boot times. I wanted to switch that hard drive with my Seagate Barracude 7200.7 Model: ST3160023A 160GB HD.

I have every driver I can find for both installed, but when I plug in the external drive, windows does not recognize it. It doesn't even detect a unknown USB device. I tried plugging it into a Linux machine and it detects it. Any ideas why it wont work on my machine?

Try different jumper settings on the drive. Set it to what ever the other drive was.

I have tried master (which is what the external enclosure says to use), slave and cable select.
