Is it possible to use my ink monitoring software on a network printer?
I got a print server and hooked up my printer to my network so I could easily share the printer. However it no longer sends info to my computer as to when I'm out of ink and which cartridge is low. Is there anyway to interface my ink monitor on this network printer now?

I have the Epson C80 printer and the Linksys PSUS4 print server.

Too bad,
do you know of an easy way to check ink levels without disconnecting and reconnecting and installing the software every time? |

Can't you just keep a set of spares around and when it runs dry, just change the cartridge?

Epson cartridges do not contain the print head IIRC, letting it run dry would be very bad for the print head and it wouldn't be replaced with each cartridge like HP models. In fact this was used as the reason why Epson drivers usually refuse to work with almost empty cartridges, they don't want to risk running dry.
