Vid Card Heat
Alright, So i finally finished my watercooling setup (DD maze 4 blocks on CPU, GPU, and mobo chip) Everythings working great, OCed my 2500 to 200fsb and 11 mult right off the bat with 1.7 volt core. Getting temps of 40 under load, 35 idle on the proc. The part im a bit worried about is the vid card. No one ever seems to have a reasonable temperature for vid cards to run at. So im asking, if the top of my 9800pro(right over the GPU) is at like 50-60c, is that a bit hot? especially since I plan to start overclocking it soon. I do have a 5950gt (i think) fan (from when they took up 2 pci slots). This fan can run at 5volts easily and is almost silent. I had it over the card for a while and it cooled to top of the card down to almost ambiant temps.
So, is it worth it to mod this fan so it will cool the vid card? BTW, sorry bout the long post. |

GPUs dont need to be cooled the way a CPU does. your 5950 has an operating range up to 120C, which is pretty darn hot. if you add a GPU waterblock, it will only add more heat to your system. the only things i would put blocks on are the CPU and northbridge.
