Unhappy No CD Drives showing in "My Computer"

for some reason between last night and today both my CD drives are not showing up in "my computer", the floppy drive is but not the disk drives. Now i did go through some previous posts and found the one about doing a registry edit as per microsofts instructions, which i did with no luck. The only thing i've been doing is surfing the web and loading some programs. Now i know what your gonna say...what did i install etc etc. Well i did install Nero Burning ROM as well as WinRar. Now as i said before, the other post did have to do with Burning software and stuff, but seeing as i already tried what microsoft said to do, i'm out of ideas. Thank you all very much, it has (i'm sure) become very apparent that i rely on this site for my computer problems, and you guys are so nice for helping me out. Sorry if i seem to post alot, but believe me i do try to find the answer in previous posts first so i don't waste anyone's time. Thanks again everyone!

Any flagged devices in device manager, like maybe an IDE controller? Do the CD drives show up in device manager? What about in Disk Management?
Nero has utilities you can download for uninstalling, cleaning, and registry checking.
