LG Electronics- Good LCDs?

Two 17" CRTs take up an awful lot of space on a dorm-size desk. I've been browsing around for some LCDs and I found three that seem pretty nice:

AVIDAV (Made by Jetway) M1731S: $279
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...factory=BROWSE
LG Electronics L1710S: $314
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...factory=BROWSE
ViewSonic VX715: $369
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...factory=BROWSE

I'm pretty sure I can count on the Viewsonic to be good quality, and I'm also pretty sure I can count on the AVIDAV to be pretty low quality on account of its surprisingly low price. That leaves the question of the LG monitor- I know they're pretty respectable in the cell phone field but I've never heard anything about their monitors before. (btw, if I do end up getting 1 or 2 LCDs I'm going to be getting rid of both my CRTs. Shipping costs would be a bit high to sell to someone non-local, but still if anyone's preliminarily interested drop me a PM.)

Does anybody have experience with LG TFT monitors? Are their monitors good, is their support good?

LG makes a quality product. If you want to keep the cost down, check out the AOpen ones that Newegg has now.

I have never haed a monitor from them but I've been satisfied with eveything else from them. LG is a pretty good brand.

Just recently set up the LG monitor. By the time I bought it the price had dropped to $296, and now it's at $289. I'm not a big fan of the stand that came with it, but that's all right because there wasn't room for a stand anyway- I have it propped up against the back of my desk.

I was a bit worried about the brightness because its stats are not that great compared to other monitors that I looked at, but the brightness is defnitely not a disappointment. This LCD monitor can easily match my Viewsonic CRT on Ultrabrite 5x. And, of course, the sharpness of an LCD at its native resolution leaves nothing to be desired.

It costs a little bit more than twice as much as a "comparable" (as if you can compare) CRT, but it's definitely worth it. I'm very satisfied with my choice to get an LCD. Now it's time to replace the one CRT that's left :-D

I'm not quite sure where I saw this, but I believe LG LCD Monitors are the most popular on the market.
