Well like I told Pam before maybe you didnt read it I chose the wrong word I guess by saying ripped.. I didnt rip it at all.. I am 100% sure I did not bend the board and did not screw the board up.. all I did was from the bottom with scissors remove the white clips or w/e they are and removed the bracket...but you know what it could still be possible so once I run outta options I will test another motherboard..
thanks..and Pam I will try what you said but I still dont think that is to blame.. its really odd because It is so random if the device was not fuctioning properly there would always be a problem.. I will try though for the lack of any other options.. |

O.K. but
Let me ask you to check one more thing. You said you used a scissors to do this. Are you sure the scissors did not at any time slip off a clip and scrape the board where it may have made a hairline cut? Check around the area with a magnifier to be sure.

system froze 4 times since last post and this is really getting on my nerves to the point I want to throw my computer into the street..
I wanna fix it but I have no spare motherboard that can handle the cpu or memory I have and I dont have any other PSU's to test anything on so until I get some money I wont be able to do anything.. someone want to donate?

Trust me there is nothing more I would love to do than to throw this thing and buy one already built.. but the money I spent on it is not peanuts considering I dont have a steady job and lots of expenses..... and Pam I just took the drive out.. running with no cd drives or nothing on my secondary slave at all so I am waiting to see what happens..

One way or another you will have to go shopping but at least you'll be shopping for the right thing.

I can't believe all these posts have been spent on this one case. Wasn't it obvious about 90 posts ago that this guy had a bad motherboard??
For a $100 item, this is WAY too much time to be spending. |

See thats your opinion.. on another forum people are telling me diffrent things.. who am I suppose to belive.. your telling me you know its my motherboard for sure? If I listened to every person on the net I would be dead outta cash right now.. I dont wanna go and buy another motherboard if thats not the problem 100% .. I did that in the past with another rig I had and guess what that sure wasnt the problem, so unless you can actually physically get a good look at my computer and its parts or see what is actually happening and determine thats the problem I wouldn't go say anything ...

I understand you might have not have the $$ to buy new mobo. But sometimes you have to accept the notion that the simplest and most likely explanation is usually correct. Last edited by antgross@pacbell.net; 11-17-2004 at 02:56 PM. |

Andrew, I know this is a frustrating problem and that can lead to frayed nerves. Please keep in mind, however, we do not allow flaming of any kind in these forums. You're real close to crossing the line in your last post.
antgross, your post is likewise inflammatory and does nothing to help solve the problem. If you don't have something constructive to add, stay out of it. ---------------moderator--------------------- edit: I see you both posted again while I was typing. Just keep it clean, ok?

Well the removal of all the cd drives did not work, froze after approx 12 hours.. I guess there is nothing left to do but try with a new motherboard, I just know with my bad luck the problem wont be fixed once I do..
what do you guys think? should I buy a new motherboard or try a new PSU??.. those are the only 2 left to try an replace.. Last edited by andrewy3k; 11-18-2004 at 06:08 AM. |

Well I am not 100% sure its a "quality" one.. it costed me about 75/USD.. all I know is that its 550W .. would you like me to take a picture of the PSU for you pam to show you to determine if its a quality one?
I will look into a motherboard what do you suggest for one?? I have a socket 478 CPU... can I ask are there any socket 478 pci-e mobo's out there at all? if so do they have AGP slots as well as PCI-E slots? becasue currently I have agp card but want to get a PCI-E card and dont want to have to get a new mobo.. thanks Last edited by andrewy3k; 11-18-2004 at 12:42 PM. |

The PCI-E boards, i915P, are for the new LGA 775 cpu.
If you want a good replacement board, one that you can overclock, I think this would be your best bet : http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...131-492&depa=0 $75 puts you in the "acceptable" class for power supplies. I know you've checked it before but the Hardware Monitor Menu in your bios will show you the VCORE Voltage. It's automatically detected through the voltage regulators and while some variation is normal, say plus or minus 10%, any wide discrepencies mean trouble. |

Thanks for the mobo link although I cant buy from newegg beucause I am international.. but I will look into that motherboard at my computer store..
Also are there any mobo's that have 7.1 built in surround sound? Also I dunno about the VCore yet because I have not checked it but according to everest and me observing the sensors the +12v dosent go below 11.00 v, the +5V dosent go below 4.25v and the same with +5V standby so it seems fine.. Also I was looking at some of my comp settings and I noticed that Automatically Restart was turned on so I turned it on.. maybe it will give me the BSOD so I can find the problem.. |

It's 8 channel audio, so you're covered there.
Also I was looking at some of my comp settings and I noticed that Automatically Restart was turned on so I turned it on.. maybe it will give me the BSOD so I can find the problem.. Post it so we all can see. Also I dunno about the VCore yet because I have not checked it but according to everest and me observing the sensors the +12v dosent go below 11.00 v, the +5V dosent go below 4.25v and the same with +5V standby so it seems fine.. What showed when you checked ? keep us posted. Pam123 |

Chances are someone knows the best reseller who's closest to you. |
