Looks good to me. Just don't forget memory, OS, and other stuff you left out.

I jsut wanted to make sure that this was an ok build. I didnt want to put together a system that was pretty much the same as the socket 939. If the prices were too close, I was just going to build a XP 3000 build instead. I just wanna make sure I can play the lastest games out like doom 3 and halo 2.

Doom3 and HALO2 will play fine with the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and the 3000+ you listed given that you have either 512MB or a gig (preferably) or RAM. FYI...HALO2 isn't quite out yet...HL2 is before that and that would be THE latest game - most anticipated yet unanticipated game out there

I see a lot of people mentioning playing Halo2 on their newest build. What's up with that? Even if they do port Halo2 to pc, it'll most likely be a year or two before that happens. Who knows what kind of technology will be out by then and what it will require.

I guess with all this craze about HALO2 going gold with the XBOX makes people anticipate the PC version not far away. I wouldn't think so - I would think before 2Q 2005, HALO2 would be out. Then again, it's following the same track HL2 did (source code leak) so then again, I'm not sure.

halo 2 didn't have a source code leak. somebody copied the master dvd into an iso and posted it in a french pal format online. and that looks like a good build but if you can spare another 100 bucks for a video card a PNY 6800GT can be had for $340.

I meant HL2 not Halo 2. LOL. I was thinking of the 6800 GT but wanna keep the costs down on this build. I just want to make sure it will play the new games out there and comming out. I was thinking of an AMD XP build but im not sure if it will be fast enough or cost efficent compared to the AMD64 socket 754.
