Keyboard problem
I bought this brand new keyboard for my PC and I've found that certain buttons on the keyboard have been assigned to different characters which come up on the screen. Is there a way to correct this?

Could be a deffective kybrd. Does it require it's own special drivers? and if so, did you install them?

Yes, I think I did. Could it have something to do with the installation disk being defective?

Not likely... maybe it's for a different country. I'd try and uninstall the software and see if Windows (assuming you're using windows) recognizes the kybrd on it's own. For example, last week I installed two Logitech kybrds with specials keys and did not have to install their "special" software.

What kind of keyboard is it? Also, when you hit Q-W-E-R-T-Y what comes up on the screen? It could be that you got a keyboard that was supposed to have a different layout but the keys were put on just like a qwerty keyboard. It is also entirely possible that it is simply defective.

Control panel, keyboard. Check the Input Locales tab. It's set for US English right now and it sounds like you need something different.

Have you tried my suggestion yet? You need the English (United Kingdom) input locale.

Hit Properties, and make sure United Kingdom is selected in the Keyboard layout/IME window.
