Is this a brand new computer or an older one?

Is it a home built or name brand computer?

What are the system specs including the brand and wattage of the power supply.

WinXP is a little more fussy about the RAM used in a system than Win9x was and could be causing the problem.

How much RAM is installed in that computer? WinXP can run on 128MB of RAM, but it'll be painfully slow. If you have less than 256MB of RAM, think about installing more.

Rebooting can be caused by a power supply that has barely enough watts for your system, faulty RAM, a faulty video card or even a faulty motherboard. Need the system specs to see if anything stands out.

it will run extremely slowly and probably isn't worth it.

Actually 128mb is really not recommended, very slow. Try 256 or 512.
