DVD Writing Probs With Dell Dimension 8400

Hi, a friend of mine has just bought a Dell Dimension 8400 however when it arrived it was supplied with a DVD Re-Writer which only supports the +R format. He asked me to swap the DVDRW drive with the Pioneer 107 from his old machine which I have done but the writing is taking ages. At the moment I type this the writer is 75% through a 4GB HDD image and has took 35 minutes @ 8x. Can anyone shed any light on this for me, I don't know what I can change to speed it up.

Cheers

Sorry for wasting your forum space guy's! Sussed it, just changed the jumper settings from CS to Master on writer and slave on rom and bingo! The bios now sees the Pioneer and writing speed is as it should be. Cool!

Cheers
