Cool nForce Sli setup

Now the nForce Sli boards have yet to be released, but that hasn't stopped
many from prebuilding up setups around these boards.

Originally I was set on buy two 6600GT's wit my Sli Board (When I get it.).

Then after reading countless amounts of stats and putting the numbers
up against each other. I've found that buying 6600GT's is real nice, but
not the way I want to go.

(Released stastics. No Varifying source.)
http://www.viperlair.com/articles/te.../chipsets/nf4/
Video card ---- Single------Sli
6800Ultra----------42.4-------71.7
6800GT------------37.9-------65.2
6600GT------------17.3-------32.0

The numbers are based off DOOM3, though they are only guesses.

Only real numbers I've heard so far have been 50-90% improvement in
perfromance. Those numbers came directly form the Nivdia spokemen.

Now given all these numbers are only guesses and I have no idea what the
end performance will be intill a Sli board gets release to be tested... So for
now based off all the fancy numbers I found and careful consideration with
www.pricewatch.com and www.newegg.com and other sources.

I've decided that It'd be best to slip a 6800GT into my setup rather then
stick with two 6600GT's. Because two of those would equal the price of
one 6800GT and stop the performance, based on these numbers, right under
a single 6800GT.... Not worth it. At least with two 6800GT's I am able to
obtain more performance then a single 6800Ultra/Near the performance of
two 6800Ultra's.

So those are my thoughts on it right now. =\ I've already pretty much decided
that I'll be going with the Sli board set up now. Just because of it's leet power.

Im not sure that, "leet power," is a good reason to plunk down hundreds of dollars to get something... If you really dont have a use for it, then it just seems like kind of a waste of money.

Personally I would wait for at least four to six months after the SLI motheboars are released before I would buy one. That way, not only does the price come down, but any possible bugs in the hardware should be worked out by then.

True... I should wait, but I can't. I have the fevor?

I actually won't be dropping any 'extra' money then I was orginally. Plus
i'll be completely upgrading the perfomance levels as well at the same time.

I only plan on buying on 6800GT for now. Maybe, about a year later, I'll buy my
second 6800GT. By then I'll actually probably need it.
