Help on RAM Upgrade(Notebook PC)!!!

I have a Compaq Presario 1500 series notebook PC. Im planning to upgrade the RAM of my notebook. It have two memory slots. One slot is already occupied by an Infineon 256MB PC2100 SODIMM. One slot is available.

First, Is Infineon a good brand of RAM?

I can't find any Infineon RAM here in the Philippines(Mixing different RAMs is not good right?). Kingston is the only available PC2100 SODIMM here. There are generic RAMs. But I know that it will only mess up my stable notebook.

Is it OK to mix two RAMs from different manufacturers?

BTW, AIDA32 Rocks!!! Without opening the memory compartment of my notebook. I was able to identify the type/brand of RAM installed in my PC. It is the most complete Sys Info & Benchmark Tool. Better than Windows'.

Thanks Guys,

Ram(It's my real name)

Try not to use Generic if you don't have to.

You can go to Kingston or Crucial and use their memory finders to find RAM that will work with you laptop.

Hope that helps
