How do I know?
Hi Guys,
Need your help. I have an old Red Fox super socket 7 motherboard (bus speed 100Mhz) which has a 128M PC100 memory and I want to upgrade to 256M memory. Since PC100 memories are obsolete my plan is to buy 128M PC133 memory instead of 128M PC100. My question is how do I know if my Red Fox motherboard support the 128M PC133 memory? Pls advise, thanks in advance! The Red Fox motherboard can be seen on the link below: http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=685 or http://www.robotnik.com/computer/big...redfoxali.html Regards, Spike_77 |

The people who did the first review used pc100 memory, it would seem that would be the max, or else they would of used better sticks. I think pc100 is the max. But wait for other forum members to give their opinions first before making a decision.

Not sure of your location but PC100 is still available. Memory manufacturers like Kingston and PNY have cautions on their website that currently produced PC133 memory is no longer backward compatible with PC100. Suppliers like ZipZoomFly still offer a pretty good selection of PC100. Kinda pricey tho'!
