Smile Check Out My New Blowhole!

I recently bought two of the most powerful fans that money can buy. I bought a 92mm Vantec Tornado fan to use for a blowhole, a 120mm Silverstone FMC3XW fan to use as a rear case exhaust fan and I also got a Vantec Nexus fan controller to give me speed/RPM control over them. (Front/Intake is handled by the stock 120mm Silverstone case fan.) The 92mm Tornado moves a max of 119cfm at 4800rpm and the 120mm Silverstone moves a max of 103cfm at 3000rpm. I just finished installation. Here are some pics...

those tornadoes are pretty darn loud. i had one for my heatsink and sold it to my friend a couple weeks later. although theyre very noisy, they cool really well. even with the fan speed turned down that fan is pretty damn loud lol. looks like you did a good job cutting the blowhole.

Thanks but it didn't go easy. First I tried using a brand new hole saw attached to a really good drill but it just danced around on the top of the case and couldn't really cut through it. So then I used a Dremel tool and it cut through pretty easy but I kind of made the hole a little too big. So if you look closely, it ain't the prettiest blowhole but it still works great.

you should do to autozone or pep boys and get some black weather stripping to put around that hole. you wont see any of the blemishes or anything. weather stripping is dirt cheap too....you can get a roll of the generic stuff for chicken feed .

That's a pretty sweet lookin' case man. If you still have the original covers from your drive bays, you should stealth your CD drives to clean up the front even more. That would look amazing!!!

Nice Job!

looks great, did you have to nail it to the desk to keep it from taking off with all those fans?

Dude, that's a GREAT idea! It will hide the rough edges and help to shrink my hole a little bit too. It might even help to quiet it down a little. I'll do it. That Tornado moves a TON of air. Oh my God, you could blow dry your hair with it. It IS loud though.
