Dell *Case* Fan
The Dell case/cpu fan on my system, might have to be replaced soon. I noticed that on the 4 corners of the fan frame (where the screws would be), there are these stretchy rubbery knobs on those corners. do I have to yank those out to expose the screws? Just wondering, cause it seems to me like it would take alot of pull to remove them.
TIA, CN

Those rubber things are holding the fan to the chassis, there are no screws under them. If you want to remove the fan I think you gotta cut those things off and then replace them with screws or nuts and bolts...or maybe even zip ties.

Yeah, i took a closer look at those rubber things, and I realized that its just the rubber things, no screws. Anyway, i have a plan. I bought a Zalman 92mm fan, what Ill do is snap off those rubber things, and get some long bolts with nuts that will fit in the holes of the fan, and bolt down the fan to the chassis (actually the fan isnt really attached to the metal chassis, theres this plastic frame in which the fan attaches to (along with the green plastic air vent).
