how long to they last. should i be worry if the light becomes worm when i touch it

The light gives off a little heat, so it should be a little warm. A for it's life expectancy, it should last a few years.

Think the inverter died, not sure why as it couldnt have run hot as it was directly in front of two 80mm case intake fans.

There are always a few bad apples in the barrel. It's the same with any product.

It also matters who the manufacturer was. Was it a quality manufacturer like Thermaltake, or some off the wall brand?

It was made by Akasa, which as far as i know are a reasonable brand name, which is why I was fairly disappointed when it failed. Oh well, just have to replace it with several more I suppose.
