DVD problem

I am not sure what is the problem, here is the problem

DVD-RW: TDK 1616N
Tried burning files(fill the capacity) on to a smartbuy DVD+r 8X, after 10% read, nero start smart said that I had an error, could not burn at 8X. The dvd clearly said 8 times, so I am left with a useless 119mb data which I could not open considering the files are 150+mb each.

Then I tried another disc, same brand, same files, but I disale multi session, speed of burning at 6X, and I still got the same problem as above. But now I have 600mb+ of useless data

the first time I got the error, the DVD when nuts, and I could only read cd's in the dvd writer. I don't know whats wrong. Here is the error log of the second burn

Also:
1. in win explorer, the DVD-rw shows up as "CD DRIVE". I think this should be DVD-RW
2. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...earn/error.jpg
3. Firmware was 2.78. Flashed to 2.c8

Because the 1st DVD(119mb) is a open cd, I tried to burn files on it again, even though I will not get 4.7gb. Just around 10% of the burn process, everything failed again. like the case before, so I think there is a problem

I tried a Duraplus CD-rw 10x, i manage to burn a full cd content, but when verification, it says that data failed to verify. the verification problem occurs at the end of the process.
Could twisted IDE cables be the problem? I bend the cables so that the insides look neat.

This problem occurs after 1 week of not using the pc. Just got back from holiday, and the pc's messed up. The pc is locked up, so no one could open it/use it. Not sure if the pc was tumbled down by the cats. A person comes during the holidays to make sure the house is ok

Well the problem of the dvd-rw showing up as CD-DRIVE is back again when I open explorer. I think that is my problem, though I don't know what/hot to fix it. Anyone knows how to fix this

That's still pointing towards bad or incompatible media.

Is DMA enabled on all your IDE controllers?

DMA is enable, onbard the master and slave of second ide(the CDRW-master, DVDRW-slave).
Autorun on.
I have burned 10 DVD's of the same brand before, and its ok, the problem started when I tried burning another DVD, but I made it multisession. Someone said don't do it, so I have not done multisession again. But even though before, it read the media which was burned, but after trying it again few times, it would not read the media. I have no idea why this happens. i have wasted 3 dvd's. no point to waste more.

that suppose to be DVD-RW. When I double click, says "H:\ Is not accesible, incorrect function"

The cd-drive only changes when I place in a DVD+r media in it. Don't know why. When I place a DVD+rw/r, the DVD-RW changes to CD-DRIVE. So its reading like I have placed a cd in it. I did managed to force copy an entire disc, but even when I place a dvd+rw media, it says do you want to copy a cd

Are you sure you have NERO set for DVD and not for CD?
