need opinions on heatsinks

need to know which one is better: http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...pu-tri-04.html Thermalright SLK-948U
http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/fro...pu-tri-13.html Thermalright XP-90
i know that the copper heatsink should cool better but the aluminum one has heatpipes and also is lighter and i am unsure of how much weight can be handled by my MoBo. am i crazy for trying to hit 4ghz on air cooling?

Can your Motherboard fit the XP-120? THAT is a heatsink. I'd recommend that one, but if you can't do that then I'd go with copper. And yes, 4 GHz on air is impossible. That would be tough on water-cooling as well though it could be done. The only way you'd be guaranteed to hit the 4 GHz mark is with Peltier or Phase Change cooling.

maximun pc dream machine 2004. 3.6 Prescott overclocked to 4Ghz on stock heatsink

then again, with that 3.2EE it would be damn hard to get 4 on air

i wouldn't be to suprised on a 3.6 because you only have to run at 223 FSB i think. on the 3.2E i have, i'll have to run at 250. hmm i hope i can a least get to 3.8 or around 40-50C at 3.6

Raising the FSB doesn't raise CPU temps as much as raising the vcore voltage does.

Between those two heatsinks, you should go with the XP-120 as UG said.
