Pics of my modded keyboard

Oh well, I got bored with the boring old beige keyboard that I sit in front of nearly every day so thought i'd do something about it. So once again I got busy with the soldering iron and the spray paint. Here's a set of photo's. Sorry the last came out a little dark I just didnt use the flash so you could see the LED's

This is a before shot (sort of) of the PCB

De-soldered the boring old keyboard LED's and changed them to blue, yellow and red.

Bit of blue metallic

And finally the finished article

Looks great, I love the multicolour leds. I would be tempted to maybe spay the keys, change them to something other than beige (I hate beige) but overwise it looks very well done.

Thanks Tin, Just gotta see how much money im left with after xmas. Definately wanna go with an all-acrylic case next as all the door LED's have died in my current one so I think its about time to get somthing better. Just recase the one I got till PCI E board become common place and the AMD64 gets a bit cheaper.

It's made by PLastikote, it's a durable polyurethane paint that sprays on anything and has a really tough finish. I put the Plastikote spray acrylic laquer over the top as well.

I'm with WTBF?... do something with the keys, give them a little pizazz
Nice work though... as with Tin, I'm a big fan of your mods

Nice mod designer, the acrylic should keep the paint off your hands I've been getting around to some LED replacements myself for quite a while now. . .Ever since my defective Lite-on drive, I'm a 'lil hesitant (although I swear the drive died to a defect upon examination I think it had a solder joint come loose by the lens that I just could not fix, some ribbon cable soldered under a metal tab and all sitting on plastic...??? ) Anywho... Keep 'em coming!

Yep, they're standard 5mm but I fitted hyperbright ones. It's just a small case of desoldering the old ones and soldering in the new ones.
