http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishR.asp?ID=1109637
Here's another build I will prob make for a friend after I build my first, guess so long as mine doesn't turn into the next manhattan project, he'll do it does everything in there look alright for a cheaper build. And if i'm right, alls that build is missing is a monitor, mouse and keyboard, as well as software. Anything else? Thanks |

Everything look okay except the RAM. You need PC3200 DDR to go with that 2.4C you're going to install.
And you might want to look at a Maxtor or Seagate hard drive instead. Been hearing about a lot of those 80GB SE WD HDDs failing prematurely lately. Cricket

Not to be conardictory to Cricket, but I have built several systems with the WD 80 gig, not the SATA one but the Special Edition 7200rpm w/ 8mb buffer, and they are excellent drives, and very fast. No problems with any of them.
And in answer to your question, It's not bad for a cheap system, like you want! Good luck!

you could shave a few bucks off the case and get a better one in the process...
http://store.yahoo.com/amamax/blatatxmicaw2.html Amamax is a good vendor and free shipping... theyre my main case supplier... ------------ otherwise Cricket's suggestions are all on the money... Ive heard the same thing about the WD drives but have been fortunate enough not to have had it be a problem for me yet.. Last edited by JPMiller; 11-24-2004 at 12:51 AM. |
