Question ATA 66 drive

This may be a lame question but I've got an older MB that supports UDMA/66 hard drives and I'm going to upgrade. Can I purchase an ATA 100 drive and still have compatability or do I have to stick with ATA 66? Thanks

the drive will work but at the ata 66 speed.
I would buy a pci controller card and connect the hard drive to it and you will have the full speed of the drive. if you feel its sluggesh

You will never notice the difference. Just put an ATA100 or ATA133 hard drive on your onboard controller with an 80 wire Ultra ATA cable.

Thanks for your help. I figured I'd lose speed but I'm going to use it as a server and speed's not going to be that important. As long as it works.
